“And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.” Deuteronomy 6:24
When the world calls us with the voice of perverted reason – when the flesh is weak and wants to fall, it is then that we should remember that the commandments of the Lord are for our good always.
God’s laws are not for the purpose of ruining our fun times. They are actually put there to protect us from the consequences of sin. Sin will cost us more than we realize. It will always erode our lives. Sometimes it will just take one speck at a time, as a river will wear away on the rocks in its path. Other times it will grab great chunks of our life, like a raging torrent sweeps the good soil and deposits it in another place.
If we submit ourselves to God’s laws, we will find safety and protection. His laws are given to us to preserve the good in our lives – always.
