How about a little Mountain climbing today?

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23

Erling Kagge, a Norwegian explorer, is the first person to have completed the “Three poles challenge” on foot- The North Pole, the South Pole, and the summit of Mount Everest. One of the books he authored entitled “Walking: One Step at a Time” explains what drives him to accomplish these amazing feats of endurance. He says this: “Why do we walk? Where do we walk from and what is our destination? We all have our own answers. Even if you and I walk next to each other, we can experience the walk differently. After having put my shoes on and let my thoughts wander, I am sure of one thing- to put one foot in front of the other is one of the most important things we do.”

He is not wrong. In fact, the Bible spends a lot of time talking about our walk (the topic is dealt with over 300 times in scripture). You see, the quality of your life is not determined by some great change in your circumstances. It is determined by one choice at a time.

How do you climb Mt. Everest in your life? How do you get to the peak that you dream of?

As Kagge learned, you do it one step at a time. Allow God to show you were to place your feet. Accept His direction for a every little detail and you will find that your life will be filled with His blessings…and you will reach mountain peaks that you have only dreamed of.
