"The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah." Psalm 87:6
A part of us always wonders if anyone even knows we exist. Everyone has a story, but does anyone even care? At some point, when we compare our insignificant lives to the massive galaxies of the universe, the little blip on the screen that is our life seems to be completely pointless.
But then we have this verse and others that say that not only does God know the number of hairs on our heads, not only does He know every part of us before we are formed in the womb, but He is also the one who is writing our biography. He knows exactly who you are, what you are doing, and how you are making a difference in this thing we call life.
He is watching for that moment when you give a cup of cold water to a child in the name of a disciple. In other words, when your church is handing out water bottles at the next local marathon with those little church tags on them ....... He wrote that down. Maybe nobody came to church because of your efforts. Maybe no one got baptized. But He wrote it down as part of your story.
When you take it on the chin for your faith, and nobody notices. He says "for this is thankworthy." He wrote it down.
Do something today that no one notices. Do something that no one thinks is great. Do something that God will write down in your story.
