God is still in charge

"For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another." Psalm 75:6-7

As I write these words, I don't know what the outcome of the 2020 election will be. I don't know if we will know tonight or tomorrow or a week from now. Some things are starting to look like the prophecies of the end times. Our very way of life seems to be at risk, and a seismic shift seems be on the horizon. I don't know what the future holds.

What I do know for sure is that God is still in charge of the entire situation. All through history we have seen how he allowed certain rulers to be in place at certain times to reach certain conclusions. Cyrus was king at the time Jerusalem needed to be restored. Caesar Augustus was the emperor of Rome and required a specific tax payment which caused Joseph and Mary to be in Bethlehem the night Jesus was born. I know that Joseph was put in power in Egypt right when the world needed someone to save food to counterbalance the coming famine....and the Bible is full of many stories like this.

Whatever the outcome, let us remember that we are looking for a "country whose builder and maker is God." Let us stand for truth. Let us be counted for Christ. Let us rest in the fact that God knows what He is doing.
