“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” Pro 25:28

Some people are easy to deal with and some are not. Some days you can deal with issues better than other days. You don’t really have the luxury of reacting in a negative way to someone who is being a jerk. Nor do you have the luxury of behaving badly because you are having a bad day.

When you lose control of yourself, you are giving control of the situation to someone else. You might get angry and stomp out thinking that you have made your point, but in reality you just left all of the decision making power in the hands of other people. You might blow up hoping that your anger will force your will on those you are confronting, but all you did was create an opportunity for them to talk behind your back. You no longer will have the opportunity to discuss differences and come to logical conclusions. Possibly your anger is out of frustration and you feel trapped.

Whatever the case, you must rule your spirit. You are the only one in the drivers seat of your emotions. Do not let situations or circumstances control your spirit. You are the king of your spirit. You should rule it.
