“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God..” 2 Corinthians 1:4
There are two very important things to notice in this passage of scripture. The first is that the Holy Spirit is sent to comfort us in all of our tribulation. We have a friend that is with us through absolutely everything that we go through.
But this comfort that He gives us is not just for us. It is so that we will have something to give to others that are in trouble. Everything that we endure teaches us something that we can share to others that are coming behind us—others that will go through the exact same things.
This verse also points out that some people don't have the Comforter in their hearts. They are without Christ and the hope that He brings to our souls. God wants us to share the comfort we have with those who do not have a Comforter of their own. Think about it!
